Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Not all National Trust properties are open yet, and those that are require pre-booking via their website, no later than 15:00 on the day prior to visit.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Ickworth House, Park and Gardens

A Georgian Italianate palace in an idyllic English landscape

Explore acres of space, woodland, wildlife, and a stunning architectural oddity, all with a story to match.

See how one eccentric man's passion for art, Italy and for having a party led to the creation of this remarkable house and its renowned collection of paintings, portraits, furniture and other treasures.

Through our Ickworth Lives project, learn about the servants and workers who kept this country estate running and share their memories. Discover what 'upstairs downstairs' domestic life was really like in our innovative displaying of the servants' quarters in the Rotunda basement. It's partially open to visitors for guided tours and we're planning a great Christmas celebration this year. The Rotunda basement will be fully open in March 2012.

Let your imagination run riot as you stroll in one of England's finest, and possibly earliest, Italianate gardens, and explore the wonderfully intimate Spring and Silver Gardens or the intriguing Stumpery.

Go wild, amble or ramble in miles of beautiful woodland walks or even bring a bike.
